Why do you want to become a nanny?
Being a nanny is a very unique opportunity. Instead of caring for children in an over-crowded, under-staffed center, a nanny can devote all of their attention and affection towards the children in their care. A nanny is able to design and implement activities and lessons which cater to each child's individual needs. I enjoy watching the minds of my students grow and seeing how their face lights up with delight when they discover something new. These are things that can so easily be missed or taken for granted in a larger, daycare-like environment.
Describe your past childcare experience:
I have an extensive background in childcare and teaching. I have completed over 100 credit hours towards an education degree at Salisbury University. I began babysitting for families at my church at a very young age and worked various jobs which furthered my admiration for children, including a camp counselor/lifeguard/swim instructor, substitute teacher, student teacher, daycare/preschool teacher, nanny, and babysitter. However, I feel what makes me most qualified is that I, myself am a mother. I understand the needs of the child and the expectations of parents.
