Why do you want to become a nanny?
I love working with children in a variety of ways, not just as a teacher, but as someone who can enrich the life of a growing child. I feel that I have experience to offer, and I like becoming a part of a family, where I help, not just the child, but the parents too.
Describe your past childcare experience:
As the daughter of a life-long educator, I had my first job with children in 1998, participating for two years in a literacy summer camp called Freedom School in Philadelphia, PA. This job involved actively engaging 6-10 children, aged five to eight in learning to expand their vocabulary and recognize and read sentences, as well as providing a multi-cultural outlook on life. More recently, I work for one family with their son, who has mild Asperger's Syndrome. I have been employed in the position of live-in full-time nanny/mother's helper for the past 2 1/4 years with this family, and was also a regular babysitter/nanny for this family from 2002-2007. I have experience with children starting at 18 months to 11 years old.
