Things to do with your nanny in Portland , Oregon

If amusement parks are an interest for your nanny then Oaks Park is THE one. It opened it gates on May 30, 1905 to Portlanders who arrived by foot and on horseback, in automobiles and by boat from the Willamette River. As one of the oldest operating amusement parks in America, it has so much to offer. They have thrill rides, bumper cars, and carnival games. And in addition to the midway rides, they also have quite a selection of carnival treats. The Oaks also offer a skating rink. The floor is made of wood construction and is over 100' x 200' in size. It is maintained meticulously and is in excellent condition. Best of all they have live organ music to skate the day away. The Oaks operate weekends only in the spring and early fall and daily throughout the summer. The skating rink operates year round. So when your nanny needs amusement……

Your nanny will be amazed to discover what is happening at our place! So step inside the gates of the Oregon Zoo for fun shopping, fun dining and endless things fun things to see and do! Travel beneath the ice floors to see polar bears basking on the shore or dipping in the water. Look up and see sun bears basking lazily in trees. Spend time with Lorikeets. Some of the world's most beautiful birds live in this walk-through, open-air aviary. Your nanny can purchase small paper cups of ""nectar"" (actually fortified fruit juice) and feel the excitement when the lorikeets fly down and drink from the cups. Head over to Steller Cove where you can travel through underwater kelp forests and come nose-to-nose with sea otters and sea lions. Meet tree kangaroos native to New Guinea and watch them balance on tree branches with their thick tails. When available take a trip through a walk-through butterfly aviary (opening on May 21). And these are just a few of the exciting animals to investigate! On her way out – she can stop at the zoo's Cascade Outfitters gift shop which offers animal-themed gifts for everyone on her list. Hungry? Try the Cascade Grill restaurant and their specialty sandwiches and salads that are served daily.
