The Westminster Presbyterian Church and Cemetery in Maryland is a must-visit. The entrance to this 18th- and 19th- century cemetery opens through an Egyptian iron entrance gate designed by was designed by the American architect, Maximilien Godefroy. This is the city’s oldest cemetery and is probably most famous for being the burial place of Edgar Allan Poe, who died mysteriously in Baltimore at the tender age of 40. Visitors are usually intrigued and fascinated by his grave as upon the tombstone, there is a ghostly black raven engraved. It is said that each year a mysterious phantom creeps in on the anniversary of Poe’s death and not only leaves flowers, but cognac as well. Some other noteworthy tombs hold remains of generals from the American Revolution and the War of 1812.

The Mimi DiPietro Skating Center is the perfect setting for a night or day of skating. If you can't do the triple axles and figure eights – not a problem, the ice rink offers a two-hour skating lesson. Best of all, every Friday night, “Mimi's” sets the atmosphere for skaters by providing deejay music. Mt. Pleasant Ice Arena offers her a second choice. On Northern Parkway this arena is all about providing skaters with friendly atmosphere. Wednesday night is family bargain night – so take your family and the nanny, lace up those skates and sashay out onto the ice rink!
