Tourism is very important in Arkansas and many come to see the famous mineral springs at Hot Springs, the largest freestanding rock formation at Eureka Springs and the 600,000 acres of lakes and 9,700 miles of streams and rivers. Eureka Springs has a base perimeter of about 10 inches and the top measures approximately 10 feet across. Other tourist attractions include Mountain View, the Folk Capital of America, which is busy from March through October. This diminutive town preserves the pioneer way of life and displays it for visitors at the Ozark Folk Center State Park. And if you nanny is a wanna-be gold digger with visions of riches dancing in his/her head, go to the Crater of Diamonds State Park just outside of Murfreesboro. Here, one can prospect for precious gems including diamonds, amethyst, garnet, jasper, agate, and quartz! Oh My! A sports minded nanny will love the exceptional hunting and fishing in the many streams and rivers.
