My past childcare experience: Most of my nanny positions since 1995 were up North in the Silicon Valley area with different families having various needs. I was usually hired for a temporary position when a newborn arrived and then asked to stay permanently. These families had one to three children. Although I lived out, I traveled extensively with two of these families. As well as being responsible for the little ones’ daily care, making sure they arrived at scheduled activities, being the “mom” during infant swim classes, etc., I had household duties and was also in charge of packing for trips, keeping the kids happy and entertained on airplanes, taking care of fun excursions during their stays away from home. A child's safety is always my first concern. Always a priority are any parents’ requests. I expect light house keeping goes with the territory. My next priorities are singing, dancing, playing at the park, games, reading books, painting, swimming, dress up and finding ways to bring fun and laughter into every day while nurturing and empowering the child to be the best he/she can be. . Right before moving to Temecula, I took another temporary position with a newborn whose mother had to return to work. Because the little one had to have open heart surgery it was most difficult for this mother to leave her child. Again, I was asked to stay on permanently but had made commitments to sell my home and move to Temecula. I was to resume working for a local family when the mother returned to work from a maternity leave with her second child. Unfortunately, her hours were cut and since she and her husband both work from home, my services are no longer needed. Helping in the infant/toddler room one Sunday a month at my church is my favorite Sunday. As a swimming teacher, my specialty was 6 month to 6 year old children. My CPR and First Aid certificates are current. The agency up North, did extensive searches and finger printing.
