I'm a nanny because:

There is a big difference between a Nanny and a Babysitter. To me, a Nanny is your childrens' BFF. A Nanny thinks about your kids even when her shift is over. She gets emotionally and mentally invested into their hopes/dreams/fears/goals/thoughts and the parents as well. She wants nothing but the best for your children and treats them no different than her own. A Nanny is a 2nd mother/confidant/counsellor/trusted friend to your kids. She touches the heart of your kids forever. That is a Nanny.

My past childcare experience: My name is Gina and I am a mother of a 10-year-old girl. I love kids and the challenge that goes with it. Some of my favorite things I do with my daughter are swimming (she is a big fish), volunteering in the community, coloring, going for walks, watching movies, tag (she is much faster than I am), and arts/crafts. I am a positive person by nature. Previous employers would describe me as reliable, trustworthy, honest and say that I have a great attitude! I would fit best with a family who desires a Nanny that provides love, friendship, consistency, routine, discipline and encouragement for their children. I would not fit best with a family who wants me to provide all of the above, but does not listen to any possible recommendations I make regarding behavioral issues that may arise in the children or a family that wants me to use my recommendations during my time with the children, but do not continue the effort after I leave for the day. As they say, "It takes a village to raise a child." Part of that village are the parents. I believe being consistent with love, in addition to discipline/correcting poor behavior, is the key to raising a child.
