I'm a nanny because:

The longer I am away from working with children, the more I desire to be back. I have worked with all sorts of different children with varying ages, abilities, and even some children with special needs. I am new to the field in terms of professional work experience, but have worked with children for many years, and desire to work with children for the rest of my life. I have always been a fast learner and am skilled in adapting to new situations. I am sure that I can be a reliable, stimulating, and loving caregiver for almost any family, given the opportunity.

My past childcare experience: I have been working with children for more than 6 years, and have more than 200 hours of experience working in a preschool setting. As well, I have been babysitting children throughout that time. I am Red Cross CPR/First Aid certified, as well as OSHA certified. I am a very creative and outgoing caregiver and strive to provide a stimulating and fun learning environment for children. I specialize in children aged 2.5-5.5 years, but have experience with and am open to working with children of all ages. I am very skilled at creating fun and educational lesson plans, and am very organized. I love working with children and continually strive to better myself as a caregiver.

Additional Comments: I believe that a warm, caring environment is the best in which to promote educational experiences, and that any experience can be made into an educational one. Children need structure and routine in their schedules, but should also be exposed to new topics and ideas every day, and be provided with age appropriate activities to explore these new ideas. Patience and tenderness provided by the caregiver increase a child's comfort levels, and open him/her up to new curiosities and possibilities. Education is most important when a child is young, and every opportunity should be taken to foster these experiences and to promote a child's knowledge of the world around him/her.
