My past childcare experience: I am the oldest of 6 children and have a lot of experience with children of all ages (8 days to 12 years old) on volunteer and paid level. I have been a part time nanny for a family for 6 months in 2011. I have been a substitute teacher and van driver for a daycare in Waldorf, MD for 7 months. I have volunteered at my old church and current church in the nursery (ages 4 months to 2 years old) for a combination of 6 years. I have volunteered at my old church and current church in the children's ministry (ages 3-11) for a combination of 6 years as well. I really enjoy working with children and have sincere compassion for them. I like to make sure I go above and beyond what is expected of me everywhere I volunteer or work. My main priority when caring for children are the children and I make sure they have my undivided attention at all times.

Additional Comments: I usually like to combine fun, education, and physical activities. I like to promote enhancing educational skills with fun educational games. I find incentives/rewards are one of the best motivators for children, so I like to provide rewards for good behavior and good academic work. I don't want to spoil them, so I make sure they know that you should do your best whether you get a reward or recognition. I think it is important to build character because they will need it in the long run. I like to play fun games online, apps, or game devices with children when they have a little free time, so they can know that you are allowed to enjoy yourself. I am big on staying physically active because I know that it helps mentally, physically, and emotionally. Overall, I like to have a well rounded style that leaves a lasting impact on every child I care for.
