My past childcare experience: Education: • Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Child Development (w/ specialization in infant-parent/caregiver bonding and attachment) • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education • Infant/Child CPR and first aid certified • Current act 33/34 Clearances and FBI fingerprinted 15 Years of Childcare Experience including: • Nanny Care (Live-in, live-out, twin newborns, and special needs care) • Children's Author of the Award Winning Book,xx - I have had many opportunities to share this book with children in schools, hospitals, and libraries! • Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC) and Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) for children with special needs • Sunday school teacher • Child Life Intern & volunteer at Children's Hospital • Daycare Owner • Mother of a 5 year old boy Specialized skills include: • Providing infant massage (Benefits include relaxation, increased brain development, bonding ) • Teaching baby sign-language in a way that is fast and very easy to learn to share in earlier communication with your baby. (Benefits include greater emotional development, deeper bond with your baby, expressiveness of your baby, ability to talk sooner, stronger literacy skills later on, and higher IQ)! • Preparing homemade, organic baby food that promotes healthy brain development and immune support (and tastes great too)! • Decoding infant's needs by the different sounds they make BEFORE they begin to cry (Ex. Nah means, "I'm hungry, Eh means "I need to burp," etc.) Being able to hear these sounds and respond to baby's needs accurately promotes feelings of safety, comfort and being heard which all lead to greater emotional development for your baby.
Additional Comments: I am a very responsible, reliable nanny and am very dedicated to the family that I care for. Currently I am working with a wonderful family in Fox Chapel. I have been providing care to them for over 8 years. They are moving to a different state at the end of August. I am committed to remaining with them until they move, but after that I will be available for hire. Your child's safety is my top priority, with fun and learning being a very close second! I am very hands on, warm and engaging and provide lots of hugs, smiles, and words of encouragement as well as many age-appropriate activities, outings, games, and meaningful play experiences in order to ensure children develop to their fullest potential. My personality is outgoing, nurturing and flexible. I strive to provide care that is as similar to yours as possible so that children have a sense of consistency and know what to expect. Please let me know what activities, hobbies, values, and routines are important to you and I will be sure to provide those to your child each day. If you are currently seeking a nanny for the fall and feel that I may be a good fit for your family, I look forward to meeting with you!
